Problem:

Why doesn’t Hold release when I return to the call on a system phone?

Solution:

Tip 1 of 1

If a call is taken off hold by a non-system phone, the system cannot recognize that the call was taken off hold. You must go to one of the system sets, press the appropriate line button, then hang up the phone.
