Product Troubleshooting
Problem:
My remote dial pad doesnt work at all. What should I do?
Solution:
Tip 1 of 9
Make sure the battery is correctly installed with the plug securely connected.
Make sure the charger power adapter is securely plugged into the charger and an electrical outlet that is not controlled by a wall switch.
Make sure the dial pad has been fully charged. The CHARGE light on the edge of the dial pad illuminates anytime it is charging. Recommended time for a full charge is six hours.
Tip 2 of 9
Confirm proper installation of the headset base power supply and headset battery. You should only use the power supply provided with your cordless headset. Make sure the electrical outlet is working and not controlled by a wall switch.
Tip 3 of 9
Ensure you have followed the correct installation instructions as provided in the User’s Manual. There are 3 installation options:
OPTION 1 - Connecting headset base with a corded or cordless phone
Step 1: Plug the headset base power adapter into an electrical outlet not controlled by a switch and the POWER (green dot) jack on the base.
Step 2: Plug the telephone line cord into the TEL WALL JACK (red dot) on the headset base.
Step 3: Plug the other end of the telephone line cord into a duplex splitter.
Step 4: Plug the duplex splitter into your telephone wall jack. If you are a DSL internet subscriber, make sure you have a DSL filter plugged into the wall jack first.
Step 5: Plug a second telephone line cord between your telephone base and the duplex splitter.
OPTION 2 - Connecting the headset base as a stand-alone unit
Step 1: Plug the headset base power adapter into an electrical outlet not controlled by a switch and the POWER (green dot) jack on the base.
Step 2: Plug the telephone line cord into the TEL WALL JACK (red dot) on the headset base.
Step 3:: Plug the other end of the telephone line cord into your telephone wall jack. If you are a DSL internet subscriber, make sure you have a DSL filter plugged into the wall jack first.
OPTION 3 - Connecting the headset base to a multi-line corded phone or a digital business system desk set
Step 1: Plug the headset base power adapter into an electrical outlet not controlled by a switch and the POWER (green dot) jack on the base.
Step 2: Disconnect the curly cord from the handset jack on the corded telephone base. Plug it into the CURLY CORD (light blue dot) jack on the headset base.
Step 3: Plug the 4-conductor telephone line cord into the BASE JACK (orange dot) on the headset base.
Step 4: Plug the other end of the 4-conductor cord into the handset jack on the corded telephone base.
Step 5: Plug a telephone line cord into the telephone jack on the corded telephone base.
Step 6: Plug the other end of the telephone line cord into your telephone wall jack. If you are a DSL internet subscriber, make sure you have a DSL filter plugged into the wall jack first.
Tip 4 of 9
For the remote dial pad to operate, it must be registered to one of the following cordless headset bases: TL7610; TL7611; TL7650; TL7651.
Tip 5 of 9
Ensure that the remote dial pad has been charged for at least five minutes before attempting registration. In addition, at least one cordless headset must be registered to its base before the dial pad can be registered.
Step 1: Remove the dial pad from its charger, then return it to the charger. Wait for the screen to display: PRESS PAIR 4 SEC ON BASE.
Step 2: On the cordless headset base, press and hold PAIR for appoximately four seconds, until the red MUTE light illuminates, then release the button.
Successful registration is confirmed when DIAL PAD is displayed on the dial pad screen.
If registration does not take place, repeat the steps above.
NOTE: If two cordless headsets have been registered, the dial pad will pair and operate with the last registered headset.
Tip 6 of 9
You may be out of range. Move closer to the cordless headset base.
Tip 7 of 9
NOTE: If your TL7601 remote dial pad is registered to a compatible AT&T cordless headset connected to a digital office system desk set, the dial pad will not operate unless the office desk set is routed through an analog terminal adapter (ATA). Consult your telecom administrator for more information.
Tip 8 of 9
If the headset is not working properly, you may need to reset your system. Complete the following steps to reset the telephone system:
Step 1: Disconnect the power to the cordless headset base.
Step 2: Disconnect the headset battery.
Step 3: Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the power to the headset base.
Step 4: Reconnect the headset battery
Step 5: Place the headset in the base and wait about one minute to re-establish a link, then test the cordless headset again.
