Tip 1 of 10

Make sure your answering system is On. At the base, press ANSWER ON until you hear Calls will be answered and the button illuminates.

 

Tip 2 of 10

Your answering system is full. Old messages must be deleted in order for the system to accept new messages.

WARNING: YOU CANNOT DELETE UNPLAYED MESSAGES! MESSAGES MUST BE REVIEWED BEFORE THEY CAN BE DELETED.

To delete a single message: While the message is playing, press DELETE

To delete all previously heard messages: Press and hold DELETE.

 

Tip 3 of 10

If you subscribe to a distinctive ring service to identify certain callers, there may be an incompatability between the distinctive ring patterns and the answering system’s ability to answer at the designated number or rings.

 

Tip 4 of 10

If you have voicemail service in addition to your answering system, your callers’ messages may be going into voicemail before your answering system picks up the call. Program your voicemail to pick up at least 2 rings greater than the number of rings your answering system is set to answer the call.

 

Tip 5 of 10

The volume for your Telephone Answering System may be turned down too low to hear any recorded messages. Press the VOLUME ▲ button to turn up the volume.

 

Tip 6 of 10

If an extension phone is picked up (goes off hook) while the answering system is recording a message, the recording will stop and the system will return to standby mode. In which case, there may be no message for that call.

 

Tip 7 of 10

If you have a Telezapper running in "Advanced" Mode, it may interfere with your Telephone Answering System recording messages. You may need to change your Telezapper to "Basic" Mode. Please refer to your User’s Manual for your Telezapper for more information on changing modes.

 

Tip 8 of 10

If you have more than one phone with an answering system, make sure that only one system is turned On.

 

Tip 9 of 10

You may need to reset the Telephone Answering System. Complete the following steps to reset the Telephone Answering System:
Step 1: Disconnect the power to the telephone base.

Step 2: Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the power to the telephone base.

Step 3: Set the day and time.

 

Tip 10 of 10

You may have a line problem. To test for a line problem, test your unit at another location such as your neighbor’s or relative’s house. If your unit works at another location, contact your local telephone company.
